Obituary

A. L. Carter, age 100, passed away on August 11, 2021 in Largo, FL. He was born in Opp, Alabama; the son of Ivy and Ella Mae Carter. He resided in Seminole, FL. Carter served his country as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy for 30 years and retired in 1969. He then went to work for Moran Towing, a tugboat company, for 15 years. During his retirement he and his wife enjoyed square dancing, traveling in their motor home, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Nita" Carter and his daughter, Carol "Dee" Wilson. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Lownsbury; 5 grandchildren, Dean (Karen) Harkey, Tiffany (Matt) Cline, Trevor Coryell, Troy Coryell, and Brandon Lownsbury; 2 great-grandchildren, Danny and Camryn Harkey; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Arlington Park Funeral Home.
