Obituary of Addie Peters

Addie L. Fussell Peters, born May 26, 1921 to Agnus and Charlie Mills of Douglas, GA, passed away February 18, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband, Willie Fussell in 1985. Remarried in 1992, Addie is survived by Oliver L. Peters of Jacksonville. Also surviving is her daughter, Barbara Hammock (Bobby); her son, Garry Fussell (Sherri) and two stepdaughters. Addie was devoted to her three grandchildren, Lori Mackey, Hayley and Holley Fussell. Raised in Douglas, GA, during WWII, Addie worked in an aircraft assembly plant at the Douglas Airport Building where she was part of a group of women affectionately known as "Rosie the Riveter". She later moved to Jacksonville where she resided for the remainder of her years. The family would like to express gratitude for the loving care provided by the staff at the Health Center of Lake City. A graveside service will be held at 1:00p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2009 in Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at graveside.
