IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alberto Bueno
Alcantara
April 29, 1935 – October 16, 2024
Alberto "Berty" Bueno Alcantara passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the age of 89. Tatay Berty passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his beloved wife of 61 years, Enriqueta "Etang" De Guzman Alcantara, along with their children and grandchildren by his side.
He was born in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines on April 29, 1935, to his father and mother Conrado Alcantara and Maximina Bueno. He was the oldest of five children. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1958 and served on the USS Springfield. After being medically discharged from the Navy, Tatay Berty returned to the Philippines where he soon pursued Nanay Etang. The two were married in Kawit, Cavite on November 17, 1963. Together they had four children: Angelita, Renato, Noli, and Eduardo. Their family immigrated to the United States where he worked many jobs from Ponte Vedra to Sawgrass to XoMed.
Their family grew and they gained one daughter in-law Maria Cecilia "Itchelle," the wife of Noli. Tatay Berty's children blessed him with eight grandchildren: Renato, Elizabeth, Lorenzo, Carina, Joshua, Kailey, Rachelle, and Alexandra; and three great-grandchildren: Lillian, Darlene, and a baby boy due in December. He is also survived by his brother, Rodolfo Alcantara, and his many nephews and nieces. Tatay Berty's legacy will continue through his loving family.
