Obituary of Alfred Mastronardi

Alfred "AL" T Mastronardi, 80 entered into rest on December 24, 2012. Al was born in Dunmore, PA on January 4, 1932 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Mary Scartelli Mastronardi. Al was raised in Dunmore and upon graduation in 1950, relocated to New Jersey where he was employed by General Electric North Bergen. He married Carmella Delle Fontane in 1954 and raised four boys in Secaucus, NJ until 1978. He then transferred to General Electric Service Shop Jacksonville, FL where he resided for 34 years. He retired from GE in 1987 and furthered his career with Elliott Turbo Machinery Company to retire in 1995.

He enjoyed working in his shop, backyard and had many woodworking hobbies. He enjoyed the paddle boat on the lake and built a dock & gazebo, also helped many friends in the neighborhood. He was always willing to give a helping hand.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife Carmella of 58 years and four sons Frank, Joey, Alfred and Jim and his wife Shannon, two grandchildren Christopher and Nicholas and sister Marlene.

Al was a dedicated family man and treasured being with those he loved. He will be greatly missed by his family and good friends. My sincere thanks to Doctor Mahajan at the Cancer Specialist of North Florida and to his staff for their kindness through a difficult two years. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 10478 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. Inurnment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery.
