Alton Leroy Smith, age 83, who was born on January 14, 1936 in Richmond Virginia, passed away June 21, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Al is a retired Navy Veteran that served for 30 years.  Al went to work for securities after the military, where he worked until he turned 80. Al enjoyed spending time with family.  He loved western reruns, puzzles, country music and dancing.  Al's favorite hat was his cowboy hat, which he is taking with him on his journey.

Alton was predeceased by our mother, his wife Grace Lee Kendrick Smith.

He is survived by his daughters Tammy Bess Renetta Smith, Betty Bragalone, Victoria Smalley, who live here locally. His son in Texas, Leroy Smith. his sister Peggy Smith, in Pennsylvania and multiple grandchildren in both Jacksonville, and other states.  There are just too many to list.
