Alvin B. Webb of Jacksonville passed away on Saturday, December 15th, 2018.  He was 86 years old.  Alvin was born on September 28th, 1932 in Lynch, Kentucky to Jason Andrew and Susannah (Holbrook) Webb.

Alvin received his Bachelor's degree from Pikeville College and went on to receive his Masters Degree from the University of Kentucky.  In his earlier years Alvin was employed as a coal operator and also a teacher.  He retired from the University of Kentucky Extension Service and the State of Florida Corrections Department.

Alvin is survived by his three daughters, Rhonda (Bill) Kurth from Macclenny, Sheila Webb  of Jacksonville, and Theda (Dean) Hall of Macclenny; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; Andrea (David) Carver, Jacob, Joshua, Jackson, Joel, Drew (Whitney) Hall, Tinsley, Foxton, Jordan Hall, Holden, Blayne, Matthew (Kallie) Kurth, Kanaan; sister, Christine (Charles) Altman and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Alvin was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Garnett Adams Webb and an infant son, Jason Andrew Webb.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday December 21st at the Arlington Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6920 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, Florida.  Pastor Tim Andrews will be officiating.  Alvin's family will begin greeting guests at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the service.  Interment will be in the Arlington Park Cemetery following the funeral service.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Arlington Park Funeral Home (904) 724-6384.
