Amanda C. Rice-Stevenson, 104, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2019.  She was born on July 14, 1915 to parents May and Amanda Rice.

Amanda attended Hunters College in New York City, NY and was an ordained as a minister in her early years. She later worked and retired for the United Postal Service in Jacksonville, FL.

Mrs. Stevenson is preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie Stevenson; children, Rose Marie Brown-Hamilton and Samuel Roosevelt Brown.

She is survived by her children, Ada Doris Brown Cox and Rowena M. Rice; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Arlington Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville. FL 32211.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 pm with Elder Moses Long, Jr. officiating.  A committal service will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206
