Obituary of Amy Bennett

BENNETT Amy Ruth Bennett, 70, passed away October 8, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Furney and Maggie Mitchum and graduated from Moultrie High School in Mount Pleasant, SC. Mrs. Bennett moved to Jacksonville and was a teacher's assistant for 29 years at the Alden Road Exceptional Student Center. In addition to her passion for exceptional children, Mrs. Bennett enjoyed tending to her flowers and the outdoors. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Chief David Bennett; son Jesse Earl Bennett; nephew James "Cal" Weatherford (Sharon); and a brother-in-law James Weatherford. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 11:00am with Rev. Gene Grey, officiating. Entombment will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
