Andrew Maxwell (A.J.) died April 14, 2023 at HCA Memorial Hospital. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, May 3, 1929, the son of Andrew Jackson Maxwell, Sr. and Clyde Vontriece (Oliver) Maxwell.

He graduated from Sanderson H.S. in Sanderson, FL. Following high school he attended Massey Business College in Jacksonville, FL. Then he enlisted in the U.S. Army going to Okinawa. Once back he met, dated, and married Joslyn Marie Bennett. They celebrated 70 years of marriage in January 2023. He retired at the age of 80 after a successful career as an automobile salesman. A.J. was a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Bevis of Roma, GA. Surviving in addition to his wife are son Andy Maxwell, daughters Lavon Rigdon (Jerry) and Marie Maxwell. Grandchildren Jessica Talkington (Chris), Jeremy Rigdon (Darrah), Tiffany Jones (Matthew), Daniel Batten (Morgan), Jordan Rigdon (Samantha). Great grandchildren Wesley Talkington, Sarah Talkington, Graham Batten, Walker Rigdon, Ensley Batten, and Emma Jones.

Services will be held on April 20, 2023 at Arlington Park Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by services at 11:00am.
