Obituary of Anne Forrester
Anne A. Forrester went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 31, 2007. Anne was born on September 17, 1927 in Birmingham, Alabama. She lived in Jacksonville, Florida the last 30 years and was predeceased by her husband, W. Joe Forrester. Before her two-year battle with illness, Anne was a volunteer for over 10 years at Memorial Hospital where it was said, "Anne is always willing to go the extra mile for all requests." She also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and for many years at Parkwood Heights Elementary School. She was an active member of her church, Arlington Baptist, her Sunday School class and Trailblazers. She leaves to continue her Christian example and celebrate her memory; her daughters, Becky Smith (Roy), Carol Young (Mike); her grandchildren, Marisa Barnes (Mike), Rayni Moret (Jason), Cameron Young, Keelan Young; her great-grandchildren, Bryce Joseph Sallee` (Joe's namesake), Michael R. Barnes, III, Mia Anne Barnes (Anne's namesake). She leaves memories to be cherished by her special friend, Chuck Brown, her "buddy", Barbara Spears, her friend, Sandy Bruce and, of course, her precious Yorkie, Crumpet. Her family would like to thank Dr. Morris Dees and the staff of Hematology-Oncology Associates Beaches for their loving kindness and tender care during her illness and the doctors, nurses and CNAs at Community Hospice of NE Florida for their compassion during the final hours of her special life. Her beautiful smile will remain with us always. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from 4: 00p.m. - 6:00p.m. at the Arlington Park Chapel, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Arlington Park Cemetery. Anne requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society for without the research done there, she would not have been here with us to enjoy the past two years of her life.
