IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Annie
Smith
August 20, 1935 – September 2, 2022
Annie Mae Smith, 87 years of age, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on September 2, 2022. She was a lifelong Jacksonville resident, born in Jacksonville, FL at her parents' home on August 20, 1935. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Emma Pinkston. Annie Mae was married to the love of her life for 41 years, Styles Smith, whom passed in 1994; they raised four wonderful children.
Annie Mae was a lifelong member of Woodland Acres Community Church where her father, Rev. Harvey Pinkston, was the pastor for over 50 years. She loved her church, she sang in the church choir, and was Secretary & Treasurer of the church for many years. God and family was everything to her.
Annie attended Landon High school then became a wife and mother. Her and her husband owned Styles Smith Plumbing where she was the secretary for many years. She was a wonderful southern cook and was always ready to make you something to eat. Fried chicken, pineapple cake, and chicken & dumplings were some of her specialties. There was always enough for everyone and then some! She even won blue ribbons for her homemade jellies at the Jacksonville Fair.
Her name was Annie Mae Smith, but her family knew her as Mom and Granny. She was so special to her family and will always be cherished by us all. Annie loved to spend time with her family, whether it was just sitting and talking, telling old family stories, or laughing at jokes. She was always so proud of her family and loved each and every one in her own special way. She offered so much love, patience, kindness and support to each member of the family, she was our rock.
She is survived by her four children, daughter Anquinette Thompson (Reggie), son Darrell Smith (Janice), daughter Susan Shrout (David), son Johnathon Smith (Traci); eight grandchildren, Chris Malone (Brandy), Stacey Pollack (Tim), Stephanie Sweeney (Russell), Styles Smith (Ashley), Victoria Westheimer (Richard), Emily Morrow, Quinton Smith, and Regan Smith; eleven great-grandchildren, Skyler, Austin, Makayla, Madrine, Meadow, Mia, Tim, Reese, Mackenzie, Adeline and Trey; one great-great grandchild, Myles Malone; and sisters Rita and Nancy. She was preceded in death by her siblings Bonnie & Bertha (twins), and Norris. The family would also like to recognize her caregiver, Linda Drake, that loved and cared for her like family.
