Obituary of Arthur Copeland

Arthur George Copeland, 80, went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 14, 2010. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and caring friend to all who knew him. George was born in Newnan, Georgia on July 28, 1929 to the late James and Myrtle Copeland. He is preceded in death by his daughter Reta Maryanne Copeland. George was a Korean and Vietnam War Veteran in the United States Navy. He is survived by his loving wife Thelma Copeland of thirty-nine wonderful years; sons Arthur (Marcia) S. Copeland, Blair (Karen) Copeland, Mark (Paula) C. Copeland; daughters Mary (Lorenzo) L. French, Betty R. Mahon; sister Demaris Dowling; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010. George was a simple man who remained in love with his wife Thelma until the end.
