Arthur Thomas Strickland passed away peacefully under Hospice care on Thursday morning, January 21, 2021 due to ongoing health issues, at the age of 66. He was known to his family and friends as Art. He was born December 18, 1954 to Mr.Emory C. Strickland Sr. and Mrs.Marion Strickland in St. Augustine, Florida, but grew up and lived in Jacksonville, Florida.
Art was a 1972 graduate of Terry Parker High School. He married for a short time but had no children of his own. He worked for Action Pool and Spas during the 1980's and 1990's. He later went to work for Mackoul Distributing until he medically retired.
Art loved his family and his friends. Many weekends you would find him playing cards with his dad, brother, and uncles. His favorite colors were orange and blue due to his love of the Florida Gators. He also loved fishing, hunting, and NASCAR (Jeff Gordon). Art collected many Gator and NASCAR memorabilia over the years including a sizeable Matchbox car collection of race cars. He also spent many a Friday or Saturday night with his brother and his nephews at the dirt track races at Jax Raceways.
Art is preceded in death by both of his parents, with his Mother, Marion Strickland, passing away in July 2018 after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his brother, Clinton Strickland; his sister, Janice Strickland; his two nephews, Craig (Stephanie) Strickland and Scott (Tara) Strickland; great-nephew, Brandon Strickland; and great-niece, Chloe Strickland.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 5-8 PM at Arlington Park Funeral Home located at 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
