Gething, Ashley Renee, 26, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on Sept. 27, 1988.

She was a 2007 graduate of Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and 2011 graduate of UNF. Ashley was a Creative Writing major at DASOTA. Writing and reading were just one of her passions. She worked at AMC Theatre during her school years and developed a love for movies, quoting entire movie scripts for a few of her favorites!

Ashley may have lost her battle with Melanoma cancer but inspired so many people with her courage, strength and determination to fight with a smile on her face. Ashley was a loving and endearing daughter and friend to so many. She has left us all with memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. Fly high sweet girl in the arms of the angels.

She is survived by her parents, Robert and Jeri Gething; grandfather, Clarence Gething; grandmother, Elaine Dodson; aunt, Susan Wood; uncle, Tim (Amy) Dodson; aunt, Susan Dodson; and many cousins.

Funeral service for Ashley will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2015 beginning at 3:00pm with a visitation and memorial service at 4:00pm at the Fort Caroline Presbyterian Church, 3754 University Club Blvd. Interment will be private.
