Burke Franklin, born on November 23rd, 1927, in Grand Cayman, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on February 4th, 2022, in his home, in Jacksonville, FL.

Burke is survived by his wife Elsa Franklin, and three grandchildren, Kenneth Streeter, Kimberly Streeter, and James Banks. He was predeceased by his parents Aldine and Harwood; sisters, Daisy Belle, Cassie, Deane; and brothers, Harold, and Lloyd. He was the last of the 5 siblings to pass.

Burke was a US Army Veteran of some years, as well as a merchant marine for 30 years, only retiring in 1983 with the birth of his first grandchild. His hobbies included the garden he very carefully tended to, including several acres of lands he determined took care of until he was no longer able. Electronics and Football were also keen interests of his. And the house was rarely quiet without his music - classical or gospel.

Burke was never long without a joke or a smile. He was a light and his presence will be keenly missed by all who were blessed to know him.

A private service will be held for him on February 18th.
