Barbara Diane Hanewacker, age 21,  passed away December 24, 2017 at her home after a long battle fighting brain cancer. She was born April 13, 1996 in Jacksonville Florida. She is the daughter of Melody LeGasse and David Hanewacker.  Barbara graduated from Sandalwood High School, Class of 2015.

Barbara enjoyed doing American Sign language, volunteer work, listening to music, ROTC, shopping at the mall, spending time with her family, friends and her dog lucky.

Barbara was preceded in death by Grandparents Ronald and Barbara LeGasse; Grandfather Carl Hanewacker, Aunt Cheryl Hylton; Uncles Michael Carroll and Ronnie Quillen. She is survived by her mother and father, Melody LeGasse and David Hanewacker ; Grandmother Diane Lackey; Half sister Krystal Mapel; Aunts; Rhonda Satterfield, Crystal Carroll and Judy Qullien; Cousins Keely Carter (James), Lindsey Carroll, Whitney Drummond (Ciara), Jacob Satterfield, Sarah Satterfield, Ronnie  Carroll (Jaime), Gage Carter, Gavin Carter, Oliver Carroll, Judy Miller (John), Randy Carter, Rudy Carter (Renee), Brittnee Gillyard, Brianne Gillyard, Jodee Carter, Randy Carter, Hailey Carter and Zachary Carter; Uncles Timmy Hilton and Pete Hilton and Bobby Satterfield; and her nieces and nephews, Lillian, Jayce, Kora and Skyla

In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the gofundme account set up to help pay for funeral expenses.

The family will receive guests for a Visitation  4 PM, Friday, December 29, 2017 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 5 PM with Pastor Carl Logan officiating.
