IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Elaine
Flaisig
September 26, 1944 – April 28, 2022
Thessalonians 4:13-14
"Brother and Sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."
Following a lengthy battle in the hospital, on April 28th, 2022 Barbara Elaine Flaisig went to her heavenly home at the age of 76.
No matter what you knew her as, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grand or great grandmother, mee-maw, granny, friend or even crazy cat lady, Barbara was a light in the lives of all she met. Her feisty personality and abundant humor ensured there was never a dull moment.
Born September 26th, 1944 in South Carolina. Barbara was the youngest of 5 daughters to Jake and Bessie Gleaton. In her passing she is preceded by sisters Vera Del, Helen and Eda Mae, former Husbands Carl Arnold, George Gerhart and Lyle Flaisig, along with her beloved son Carl Allen Arnold.
Her vivacious spirit lives on through those she left behind. Her partner Dennis Ward, her daughter Angela Lehman (Richard), grandchildren James Woodworth (Brittney), Devyn Arnold, Rachel Kellum (Austin) and Kyle Arnold. Great grandchildren Sierra, Skiilar, Sydney and Lucille. Her Sister, Annette Hover, along with even more nieces, cousins. Her dog Abbie and so many cats!
All jokes aside, there was no one like Barbara. She lived fearlessly and loved unapologetically. When so many people struggle to hide their quirks and imperfections, Barbara choose to laugh at herself while truly owning up to the fact that no one is perfect, and that's OK!
Through her life was cut short, it was abundant and lived without abandon. I believe her soul lives on through all who's life she touched.
Romans 8:38-39
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any power, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
In lieu of flowers feel free to make a donation in her honor to one of her favorite charities: ASPCA, Wounded Warrior Project and Jacksonville Humane Society.
