Barbara Ellen Vittitow, 84, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on November 5, 2023. She was born on December 7, 1938, in Albany, New York, to the late Hoyt family. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Barbara was an avid animal lover and dedicated much of her time to helping animals in need. Alongside her husband, Sam, she started and operated the Jacksonville Humane Society Thrift Shop from 1985 to 1995. She had a passion for crochet and generously donated her handmade items to Hospice whenever she had the chance. Barbara was known for her loyalty and love as a friend, always making everyone feel welcome and never meeting a stranger.

Barbara is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy Tretick, and son-in-law, Gregg Gaddie. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, August and Charles Woody, Brian Swanson and great-grandson, Rylan Taylor. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Chris Bramlett.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at Arlington Park Cemetery on November 15, 2023, at 1:00 pm at graveside.
