Besim Hasanaj, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, May 26th, 2020. He was 70. Besim was born on June 28, 1949 in Gjirokaster, Albania.

He held the rank of Colonel in the Albanian Army and earned a Doctorate in Economic Science. He was a leader in his professional and personal life, had a pure heart and always looked to help those in need. Later in life Besim emigrated to the United States with his wife Natasha. They built a new life in Jacksonville, Florida, where they worked together for Duval County Public School transportation.

Besim was loved by many and is survived by his wife, two children and five grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at noon on Tuesday, June 2nd at the Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, Florida 32211. Burial will follow at 2pm at the Arligton Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Arlington Park Funeral Home 904-724-6384.
