Betty Jean Long, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Tuesday December 31, 2019. She was 88. Betty was born December 26, 1931 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Oscar and Samantha (Cain) Stewart.

Betty married Chester in 1962 and they were married for 52 years until his passing in 2014. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville since 1997. Betty worked for Nationwide Insurance as an adjuster until she retired after 20 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, gospel music, sewing and needle-work. Betty was known by those closest to her for being up to date on current events.

Betty is survived by her daughter Debbie Long and several cousins and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Long; daughter, Susan Long, and brother, Edsel Stewart.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 7th at the Arlington Park Cemetery, 6921 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, Florida, 32211. Reverend Steve McCullom will officiate. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday at the Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, Florida 32211.
