IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty J
Mosley
August 13, 1935 – February 16, 2026
Betty Jean Mosley, 90, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. She was born on August 13, 1935, in Alapaha, Georgia. After marrying George Johns, she made Jacksonville her home, where she lovingly raised her family and built a life centered around faith, family, and caring for others.
Betty had a true servant's heart. As the proud owner and operator of her own in-home daycare, she devoted herself to nurturing and caring for countless children throughout the years. She welcomed each child with open arms, treating them as her own and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, safety, and unconditional love. Her impact reached far beyond her own family, touching generations in her community.
She was known for her joyful, spirited personality — a true spitfire with a heart of gold. Betty found her greatest happiness in bringing family together. She especially loved hosting large Christmas celebrations and family gatherings, filling her home with delicious food, laughter, and cherished traditions. One of her deepest joys was taking her grandchildren on trips and spending special one-on-one time with them, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elise Lee and Lonnie Solomon; her husbands, George Johns and Albert Mosley; her children, Patricia Solomon, George Johns, and Steve Johns; six siblings; and her grandson, James Solomon.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving sister, Joanne Pye; sister-in-law Donna Solomon; and her treasured grandchildren: Melissa (Shaun) Wade, Tracy Solomon (Corey), Carolyn Johns, Jeremy (Chrissa) Johns, Daniel (Jennifer) Johns, and Steve Johns. She also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren: Evan, Mary, Lily, Colton, Hayden, Cooper, and Logan.
Betty's legacy is one of love, strength, devotion, and generosity. The lives she touched — both within her family and friends — stand as a testament to the beautiful life she lived. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
