Obituary of Betty Peiffer Kent

, Another beautiful soul Betty Jane Peiffer Kent entered Heaven on March 10, 2015 surrounded by her family. Betty was born November 1, 1927 in Plymouth County, Iowa to Joseph Earl and Amy West Peiffer who are both deceased. Betty came to Jacksonville at the age of 18 years to marry the love of her life, Daniel Lorenzo Kent, he predeceased her after 61 years of marriage. She is also predeceased by sisters, Vonda Yanak and Margaret Wyland, stepson Timothy Lee and son-in-law Sonny Lee. She is survived by her sisters Shirley Brown, Tressia Buchana and a brother Tracy Peiffer; Children, Laura Thompson(Earl), Renee Phillips(Rick), Dan Kent(Deborah) and Melody Kent; grandchildren Cathryn Morency(Normand), Timothy Lafferty(Martha), Niki Phillips, Megan Phillips and Alison Noonan(Isreal); step-grandchildren, Andrea Savoy(Paul), Jennifer Noberini(Bob), Robert Lee (Tonia), Mark Lee(Melissa), Shanna Lee-Parvin(Tim). She is also survived 23 great-grandchildren; Phillip Morency, Anna McCastle(Derek), Aaron Morency(Nancy), Candace Lafferty, Matthew Morency, Dillon Morency, Gabriel Noonan, Christina Morency, Elijah Noonan, Joseph Morency, Juliana Morency, Vincent Morency, Kassie Chiarron, Roxyanna Savoy, Isaiah Sigman, Joseph Savoy, IsabellaNoberini, Carson Lee, Marissa Feliciano, Shountrell Hills, Brooke Lee, Ayla Lee-Parvin and 3 great-great grandchildren Jeremiaha Lafferty, Kieran Carney and Blessing Lafferty along with numerous loving relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the caregivers who took such passionate and loving care of Betty.

Betty was fondest of her career as wife, mother, grandmother and nurturer to many. She was a devoted member of Riverside Primitive Baptist Church for over 50 years where she worshiped with her much loved "church family". She spent her life demonstrating her beliefs and values and opening her home to those in need. She was willing to share her knowledge of Life and love to all those who sought her counsel. She was employed with the Duval County School Board at Paxon Middle School for 13 years. She was known as an excellent cook of all types of food from all parts of the country. A family favorite was homemade egg noodles, served every New Year's Day.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2:30pm in the Riverside Primitive Baptist Church, 702 Dellwood Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32204. There will be a viewing one hour prior starting at 1:30pm. Interment will be at a later date in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers, Betty asked that donations be made in her memory to Riverside Primitive Baptist Church.
