Brent David Paulson, age 70, son of Bernard and Kathleen Ward Paulson wasborn, May 4, 1947 in Portland, Oregon passed away October1, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family, in Orange Park, Florida.
He loved spending time with family and friends, visiting the zoo and Alligator farm as well as in the mountains, riding his motorcycle and anything that included his children and grand children. Brent liked to pass his time restoring antique and classic cars an activity carried over from his occupation, reading books drinking with friends. He enjoyed assisting fellow veterans with navigating their own way through the Veterans Administrations complicated and sometimes confusing benefits policies.
Brent was a member of the Masonic lodge, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Brent served in the U.S. Army from September 1965 to June 1968 in aircraft maintenance. Service awards include the National Defense Service metal, Vietnam Campaign metal, Vietnam Service metal, Air metal, Aircraft crewman badge, and Marksman M-14.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents Maynard (Bernard) And Kathleen. Paulson, 2 sisters, multiple brothers in arms and life long friends.
He is survived by; his wife Shirley Paulson; Daughter Alissa Fulton her husband Brandon, son Jimmy Epic his wife Kim, daughter Donna Minder her husband Pat, Debbie Wilkinson, David Walmsley, Denise Combs Airoldi, 15 grand children, 11 great grand children, and 1 great grand children. Becky and Kent Sheffield who he considered family, 2 sisters multiple nieces and nephews, life long friends and brothers in arms Jerry Prouty, Victor LeBelle, & Rodney Brown.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin 3PM, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8255, 2296 Aster Ave., Middleburg, Fl. 32068 with Chaplins Phil White and Robert "Chappy" Lucas officiating.
A motorcycle procession to Jacksonville National Cemetery, with the Family, American Legion Post 250 Riders, and friends will take place Monday October 16, 2017 at 11 am. The procession will leave from VFW POST 8255 at 11:15pm. Interment will take place at 1:30pm with military honors rendered.
