Bryant Randolph Mickler, Sr., age 85, son of Randolph E. and Hilda Bryant Mickler was born, October 8, 1930 in Jacksonville, Florida passed away September 5, 2016 at his residence in Callahan, Florida.
Bryant was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a Military Police. He later retired as a Lieutenant from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. He had many accolades as a police Lieutenant. One being that he was a Certified Forensic Hypnotist. His testimony and evidence gathered through hypnosis was upheld by the Florida State Supreme Court which gave him the ability to help solve many criminal cases throughout the State of Florida. Bryant was a master story teller, captivating many with his stories about growing up in Jacksonville, his time stationed in Alaska with the Air Force, law enforcement accomplishments and his family. He loved to play the guitar and spent many hours entertaining friends and loved ones with his colorful songs. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Callahan, and also enjoyed attending services and fellowship at Crossroads Family Worship Center where his dear family friend of over 25 years, Reverend Rick Crook and his wife Sheree, serve as pastor. Bryant loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and assuredly is with him now.
Bryant was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Gloria Shuman Mickler who passed away in July, 2015. He missed her dearly and now they are both together with Christ. He was also preceded in death by his Mother Hilda Bryant Mickler, and his Father Randolph E. Mickler.
He is survived by his two sons Bryant R. Mickler, Jr., (wife Vanessa), Judd P. Mickler, (wife Kim), seven grandchildren, Jared, Shelby, Lacey, Caleb, Luke, Zachary and Emma, and his sister Elaine Sheppard, (husband Bill).
Celebration of Life will begin 11AM, Thursday September 22, 2016 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211 with Reverend Rick Crook officiating. The family will receive family and guests for a visitation at 10AM prior to the service.
Inurnment to follow the service in Arlington Park Cemetery with honors rendered by the Jacksonville Sheriff Office Honor Guard.
