Carl "Ed" Rainbolt Jr, 79, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on November 4, 1945 in New Albany, Indiana. He is preceded by his mother Wilma Ferris-Rainbolt and father Carl E. Rainbolt Sr in New Albany, Indiana. He was a graduate of Our Lady of Providence High School ('62). After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country for eight years, even serving in the Vietnam War. After serving his country, Ed went on to be employed at the L&N Railroad. While working at L&N Railroad he was transferred to Jacksonville, Florida where he then worked and retired from CSX Transportation. While he was working at CSX he enrolled into Jones College where he would earn an associates degree in business. He is survived by his four beautiful children, Melissa Gettlefinger (Phillip), Anthony Rainbolt (Theresa), Ryan Rainbolt (Jennifer), and Kristin Rainbolt along with four grandchildren Ashton Gettlefinger-Soriano (Nick), Cameron Gettlefinger, Brayden Gettlefinger and Skyler Rainbolt.
