Carmen Maria Duran, 90, passed away on September 27, 2020. Carmen was born on February 27, 1930, in Cardenas, Cuba, the daughter of Angela Aragon Pedrol and Ernesto Fernandez Tallado. In the early 1950's, Carmen emigrated to the United States and settled in Los Angeles, California. In 1971, she and her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida. For many years, Carmen worked as a computer programmer for the Prudential Life Insurance Company. She also was a small business owner, owning dozens of rental apartments and houses. She loved to cook, travel, entertain, and live life.

She is survived by her two children: Albert Duran and Francis Duran; daughters-in-law: Yoshie Duran and Audrey Duran; grandchildren: Lina, Ryuto, Jose, Lauren, Chelsea, Zachary, and Nathan; sisters: Clara Allen and Gloria Barsic; and lifepartner Kenya Hadden. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Pedrol.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Arlington Park Cemetery, located at 6921 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida, 32211. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Arlington Park Funeral Home.
