Obituary of Carol Newton

Newton, Carol Dean (CD), age 71, born Dec. 19, 1941 passed from this life on Sunday, April 7, 2013. "CD" was actively involved on the board of Jacksonville Theological Seminary as well as the board of his local church Challenge Ministries, INT. for the past 20yrs. He was retired from the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents William W. and Ernestine (Craft) Newton; his wife, Elizabeth Kay (Tillman) Newton; his brother, Edward Joe Newton, and his son-in law Jeffrey W. Winter. He is survived by daughter, Terry Winter; grandchildren, Ryan and Erika Winter of the home; brother, Darwin E. (Kay) Newton and a special friend and companion Barbara J. Neurnberger; and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. The celebration service was held at his church, Challenge Ministries on April 11, at 7:00 pm. He was buried with full military honors at Jacksonville National Cemetery on April 12, 2013. The Officiant of services was his pastor and friend, Pastor Bob Martin.
