Obituary

CAROL LEE HULTS (CURRAN) R.N. died peacefully of natural causes related to Lewy Body Dementia at Debra's Adult Family Care Home on November 12, 2023 in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 80.

Carol is survived by her three children Deanna Collier (Rick), Laura Smith (Kent) and Chip Hults (Theresa); grandchildren Carolyn Thomas (Sean), Cayla Collier, Cathryn Collier-Weir (Scott), Camie Frederich (Josh), Taylor Hults, Connor Hults; great grandchildren Louis, Lincoln, Linden, Willow Rose; siblings Susan Lee (Archie)of New Braunfels, Texas, Nancy McEntire (David) of Lakeland, Florida, Thomas R. Curran of Pompano Beach, Florida, David Curran (Lucy) of  Ocala, Florida.

Carol was born to Evelyn and Harold Dennison on September 7, 1943 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, but her stepfather Thomas Andrew Curran adopted her as his own daughter in 1949.

Carol graduated from Kenwood High School in Baltimore, Maryland in 1961
but did not attend college until she entered nursing school at Broward Community College where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1980.
She faithfully worked as an R.N. for nearly thirty years, retiring in 2008.

Yet, while she enjoyed her career, it was her calling as a mother that was most important to her. Her children and grandchildren were the joys of her life and she actively showed them all tremendous love and support throughout the years.

Carol was an earnest Christian with true faith in her Savior, the Lord Jesus, until her last breath. She served in her church and was a staunch Pro-Life advocate!

Carol had several dear friends who loyally loved and prayed for her to the end, for which we are forever grateful. We are also deeply grateful for Debra Richards, a sister in faith, who lovingly cared for her prayed with her, providing her dignity to the end.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Carol at First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach, in Pompano Beach, Florida, at a date, to be determined, in the new year. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First Priority of South Florida, an organization that Carol supported and felt strongly about (https://first.priority.cc).

Lastly, it was Carol's decision to be cremated and her ashes buried beside her parent's graves in Blandville, West Virginia and her children will honor those wishes.
