Carolyn "Babs" Pendergrass passed away on October 31 ^st , 2019.  She was born at 9:35 pm on October 10 ^th , 1932 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Picola Riley Cameron and Harold Clayton Cameron.

Also known as Tic, Mickey, Baboo, and Babbies, she moved to Jacksonville in 1968, and was married to Bert Pendergrass (d. 1992) in 1971.  She worked faithfully as a comptroller at Southern Bell until retiring in 1991.  Babs leaves behind a loving family: her daughter, Kathie DeCicco (Ralph), and grandsons Richard Hall (Shea) and Erik DeCicco (Aaron).  She also deeply loved her great-grandchildren: Cami, Cayla, Clayton, and Katalyn, and is survived by two sisters, Nancy Montgomery (Bobby, Leah, and Taylor) and Joan Hicks (Kelly, Shelly, and Landon & Tracy (d. 2016), BJ, Kenny, and Stevie).

Babs' greatest passions were her family and fur babies.  She loved to cook, play cards with her sisters, and laugh until she cried. She enjoyed playing slots and hunting for a bargain.  Her greatest love in life was her daughter, Kathie, with whom she shared the most special of mother-daughter relationships.  She also loved to take care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and is known in Grove Park as the neighborhood grandma.  Her baking efforts (especially her Christmas goodies) have had a significant impact on the greater Jacksonville area.  Babs loved to take care of her family, and the world is simply not going to be the same without her.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday November 9th at the Arlington Park Cemetery, 6921 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, Florida.  Arrangements are under the care of Arlington Park Funeral Home - (904) 724-6384.
