Obituary of Carolyn Warbritton
Carolyn Warbritton passed away peacefully in Woodstock, Georgia, on November 1, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bill; parents, Hugh and Gola Streete; brother, Hugh Streete and sister, Dorothy Thomas. She is survived by sons, Rand (Genie) of Tavares, Fla., and Scott (Pat) of Apollo Beach, Fla.; and daughter, Lynn Landry (Chris) of Woodstock, Ga.; 10 Grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Gloria Gregory and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Warbritton was born in Tutwiler, Mississippi, on November 23, 1926, and raised in Sardis, Ms. She moved to Memphis, Tenn. when she married the love of her life, Bill, in 1948. In 1957 they moved their family to Jacksonville, Fla., where she resided until the passing of her husband. Most recently, she resided with her daughter in Woodstock, Ga.
Mrs. Warbritton was a proud University of Florida fan, as both of her sons played football for the Gators. She was also a long time member of the GFWC Gateway Woman's Club in Jacksonville, where she served as chair of various committees, as well as President.
A celebration of Carolyn's life will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, with the family receiving friends from noon - 2:00 at the Arlington Park Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 2:00. The address of visitation and Cemetery is 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, 32211.
