Obituary of Catherine Benedikter

Catherine Benedikter, 88, entered into rest on February 9, 2011 in Jacksonville , Florida . She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She adored participating in the Garden Club and enjoyed crafting. She volunteered many hours for her church and children's activities throughout the years. The Benedikter home was known as the place to be when growing up, always being an open door for everyone. Catherine is predeceased by her husband, Hans J. Benedikter; brothers, Gregory, Steve and Bill Barnes. She is survived by her children, Sandra Kenefake (George), Alvin Benedikter (Roxanna), Sherry Edwards (Scott), and Alan Benedikter (Jennifer); grandchildren, Ginger, Michael, Kristin, Alan, Zack, and Anna; five great grandchildren; brother, Jim Barnes; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Helen and Beatrice Benedikter, and many treasured friends. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 13, 2011, from 3:00-6:00 p.m., at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road , Jacksonville , Florida . The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. St. Paul 's Episcopal Church, 5616 Atlantic Boulevard , Jacksonville , Florida ; with interment to follow in Arlington Park Cemetery .
