Charles "Chuck" Forrest Alsobrook, 69 passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 following a prolonged illness. Born on August 10, 1953 to Irving Coleman Alsobrook Jr. and Bernice Griffis Alsobrook, Chuck dedicated his life to service guided by love, passion, and commitment to his family. He was employed 34 years at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office where he worked in Planning and Research. Chuck was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville Florida and a proud FSU alumni, earning a degree in Criminology. Chuck was also a passionate FSU football and Jacksonville Jaguar fan, and that passion lead him to work as the official NFL clock operator for the Jaguars for over 20 years. In recent years, his favorite pastime was watching his eldest grandson play football at the University of South Florida. Chuck loved to travel and especially cruise, as he and his wife vacationed on over 150 cruises together over the years. He is survived by his wife Carol of over 41 years, a daughter Joellen Madeline Alsobrook, a son Andrew Clayton Alsobrook, two grandsons James Bradley "Brad" Cecil and Clinton Frederick "Freddy" Rowell III, his maternal uncle Wilbur Samuel " Sam" Griffis of Tallahassee and numerous cousins.
Services will be held at Arlington Park Cemetery and Funeral Home located at 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211. Senior Pastor Mike Ramondetta of Emanuel Baptist Church, Macclenny, FL will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Emanuel Baptist Church of Macclenny, FL or a charity of your choice.
Pallbearers: Andrew Clayton Alsobrook, James Bradley (Brad) Cecil, Clinton Frederick (Freddy) Rowell III, James Matthew (Matt) Barber, David Crow, Melvin Malcolm. Honorary pallbearers: Billy Alsobrook, Jr., Roy Neigh, Charles (Chuck) Gersbeck.
