Charles Alvis Miller (80) passed away peacefully on December 23, 2019,
surrounded by family at his bedside at the Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, FL after a long
battle with Amiodarone Toxicity.
He was born August 9th, 1939 in Portal, Georgia along with his siblings Gail Taccolini
and Carrol Miller, by his parents Blonnie Harrison and Jack Miller. He spent most of his childhood in Portal picking cotton and tobacco. He moved to Jacksonville, FL where he attended Andrew Jackson High School. After his high school career ended, he met the love of his life Joan B Miller. Joan and Charles married on October 9th, 1976 and have 4 kids; Charles A Miller Jr (Married to Connie Louise Miller), Fonda Williams (Married to Christopher Williams), Larry McCallister and Lisa Ward (Married to Jeff Ward). Charles has 5 grandkids; Brooke Kapner, Charles Miller III, Trevor Hardison, Tabitha Miller, and Zachary McCallister. Charles also has 2 great grandkids; Marcel Zapata and Mariah Miller. Charles was a member of the local crane operations, International Union of Operating Engineers, Hall Number (673), and professionally worked with them for 40 years. He was also a member of the United States Professional Pool Players Association, he loved to play pool and enjoyed doing so. He was also a member of the National Pier Angler Association, as he was a large enthusiast of fishing. Including his love of pool and fishing, he loved playing golf and bowling as well.

The service will be at the Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd.
Jacksonville, Fl 32211.

Services will be on Thursday, January 2, at 12pm to 4pm, with a
reception following at Southside Christian Church, 6755 Atlantic Blvd.
