Obituary of Charles Salyer

Charles Randolph Salyer, 85, of Jacksonville , died January 6, 2012 at Memorial Hospital . He was born August 20, 1926 in Erwin , Tennessee . He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He later worked on the Clinchfield Railroad, the Florida East Coast Railroad, the Seaboard Coastline Railroad, and last as an engineer on the Panama Railroad in the Panama Canal Zone . He is survived by his wife Lois Ann Salyer of Jacksonville , a daughter Terri and son-in-law Jeff Lang of Colorado Springs , Colorado , a brother Ernest Salyer of Jacksonville , and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to Holiday Hill Baptist Church in his name, at 730 Mandalay Road, Jacksonville, FL 32216.
