Obituary of Clyde Stophel

Clyde William Stophel, 85, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010. He was a loving husband devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and caring friend to all who knew him. Clyde was born April 29, 1924 in Big Creek, Tennessee to the late Charles and Sapphira Stophel. He is preceded in death by his first wife Helen Hoag Stophel and his son Clyde William Jr. Clyde was a World War II and Korean War veteran in the United States Navy. He was a 50 year pharmacist who was referred to as "Doc" at Dixie Pharmacy. Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 10 wonderful years Tommie Stophel; daughters Elizabeth (David) Hotchkiss and Barbara (Monsour) Hejazi; sons Andrew Stophel, Thomas (Connie) Stophel, Timothy (Beth) Stophel and Michael (Karie) Stophel; step-son Eugene Sommerville; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and loving extended family. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and a funeral service at, Resurrection Catholic Church , 3383 University Boulevard North, Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 11:00am In lieu of flowers please make donation to Northeast Florida Community Hospice or American Diabetes Association.
