Obituary of Coy Westberry

Mr. Coy Lee Westberry, 92, entered into rest on October 5, 2013. He is remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was born on September 8, 1921 to the late John and Nellie Westberry in Cobbtown, Georgia. He joined the US Navy and served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. A decorated retiree, he was a survivor of the USS Yorktown. Coy then went to Florida State University and graduated with his bachelor's degree in business. He retired from John Hancock insurance, having over twenty years of dedicated service. Coy enjoyed crafting furniture, traveling, and the fruits of the good earth. Above all, he treasured his family. He is preceded in death by his son, Keith Lee Westberry; siblings, John Aaron Westberry, Annie Lee Mikell and Willie Westberry. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Lynne (Jim) Anne Stafford, Susan (Kenneth) Marie Norwood, Karen Louise Westberry, Sharon Lee (Scott) Walters and Anita (Mike) Rose Pissourios; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Cora Mae Mikell and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held at a later date.
