Obituary of Daisy Goodwin
Daisy Shabaz Goodwin, born February 25, 1925, passed away April 29, 2013. Known lovingly as "Dee", her life portrayed a diligent and beautiful reflection of Jesus. She was miraculously healed of polio at age 9. As a young person, she excelled academically and her musical talent was a great asset to her church and school. Dee loved to sing. During her marriage of 61 years, she served beside her late husband, Paul, as missionaries to Montego Bay, Jamaica, to pastor Faith Temple, as well as teach in the Assemblies of God Bible School, and also when he was pastor of Calvary Temple in Jacksonville, FL. Most recently, she served with him in Every Home For Christ and in their church home, New Life Christian Center in Jacksonville. Dee was well-known as an excellent Bible teacher, a musician, a wonderful hostess and a loving, kind friend to many. Most of all, she was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. We, her family, along with a host of friends, celebrate her life and her "promotion" to her eternal reward in Heaven. Daisy is survived by 2 children, Dr. Glenn Goodwin and his wife Marci, Ms. Deborah Koch; 3 grandchildren, Natalie Goodwin, Matthew Goodwin, Steffan Koch and his wife Shannon; 1 brother, Wilson Shabaz and his wife Freida; 2 sisters, Lucy Kirk, Esther Ilnisky and her husband William along with a number of nieces and nephews.
