IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel L.
Williamson
May 6, 1957 – July 17, 2023
Daniel Lee Williamson passed away early Monday July 17, 2023. Dan was born in Pontiac, Michigan on May 6, 1957. The 4th of 6 boys of Joe and Lorna Mae Williamson. His older brother Michael, the second born, had died tragically in a car accident. He is survived by his son Michael born August 27, 1990. Also, his 4 other brothers; Dave (wife Betty), Chuck (wife Angela), John and Jim. His sister Judi (husband Jeff) Joann (wife Kelly). He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Lorna Mae Williamson, and Julie Westbrook, Michael's mother and Dan's life partner.
His father Joe took the boys to work in their teens; pouring concrete and laying brick and block. Dan developed a strong work ethic and a discerning eye that helped him become a successful Mason and businessman. He took tremendous pride in his contributions to the built environment he created - leaving behind well constructed exacting pieces of architecture - evident in the residential and commercial projects to which he contributed. He lived and loved his work but his heart longed for the mountains. Outside of work he wanted to be in a quiet place in nature In the mountains. He always loved to hunt and cook whatever the game. He was a very good cook. As a brother he loved to wrestle and he was no small dude.
In 2021, Dan became interested in Jehovah's Witnesses. His faith and studying the Bible with Stan gave him great comfort over the last few years in fellowship and friendship. Dan connected with people he came across in his daily life. He was genuinely curious about them and always had a question which made it obvious he was really listening and was waiting for a reply, a genuine discourse. Surely, his way of giving you a compliment will be missed!
Throughout his illness he always had the love, support, and encouragement of his loving son Michael. Michael worked tirelessly for any possible cure for his father until the very end. The way his face lit up when he was asked if he was proud of his son, he blushed. He left this world knowing the one thing that mattered most in the world to him, Michael, was a young man he could be proud of and hopefully he knew how very much he was loved and going to be missed.
