Danny Lee Butcher Sr., aged 78, passed away September 10, 2024.  Born on January 31, 1946 in Akron, OH, Danny was a respected figure in his community and a devoted family man.

After graduating from Andrew Jackson High School, Danny honorably served in the Army, where he developed a strong sense of duty and commitment.  Post-military, he dedicated his career to the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, where he ascended to the rank of Captain, exemplifying bravery and leadership until his retirement.

Danny was not only known for his professional achievements but also for his personal hobbies.  He was a skilled craftsman who relished working with his hands, creating numerous pieces for friends and family.  His passion for building was epitomized in the construction of his cherished lake house, where he enjoyed spending his retirement years.

He is remembered as a strong, hard-working individual who deeply valued his family and friends.  Danny's loyalty and protective nature were the cornerstones of his character. making him a beloved figure to all who knew him.

Danny is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Ann Butcher, son, Danny Butcher Jr., daughters Dana Ramos (Luis Ramos) and Stacie Newman (Jay Newman); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Delmus Butcher and Larry Richardson, and many extended family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra D. Butcher, his mother, Edith Butcher and father, Denzel Butcher.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00am at Arlington Park Funeral Home and Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.  Danny's life and legacy will be honored and remembered by all those whose lived he touched.
