Obituary of David Bennett

David L. Bennett, 72, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012. He was a loving husband, devoted father and caring friend to all who knew him. David is preceded in death by his loving wife, Amy R. Bennett of 44 wonderful years and son David Bryan Bennett. He was born in Mabscott, West Virginia on November 14, 1939 to the late Edith Williams. David served in the US Navy, during the Vietnam Era, and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a 32 degree master mason, lifetime member of the VFW post 3137 Isle of Palms, South Carolina, a shriner with the Wrecking Crew, located in Jacksonville, FL, a life member of the Blue Lodge 369 in South Carolina and The Scottish Rite here in Jacksonville, FL. David is survived by his son, Jesse Earl Bennett of Jacksonville, FL; nephew, James Calvin Weatherford of Goose Creek, SC; daughter, Lora (Mack) Brayboy of Charlotte, NC; grandson Frank Bryan Lambert; great-grandson Jonathon Nicolas Pinkard. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL. His funeral will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery.
