Obituary of David Brown

David Garland Brown, 66, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010. He was a loving husband devoted dad, gran-daddy, great gran-daddy and caring friend to all who knew him. David was born in Durham, North Carolina on October 7, 1943 to the late Forest and Mary Brown.

He is preceded in death by his sister Juanita Mary White, and his step dad Clarence Odell Andrew Jr.

David served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He was a huge gator fan and loved fishing. He retired from General Motors after thirtyfive and a half years.

He is survived by his loving wife Brenda Brown of fifteen years; son Brian Brown; three daughters Terri (Greg) Worden, Evelyn (Leland) Allen, Connie Brown; stepchildren Eric (Sandy) Gumbayan, Erica Gumbayan, Zenaida (Marlin) Carlton and Gabriel (Shayla) Gumbayan; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother Vernon; three sisters Clarice, Sylvia, Ruth Ann along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation on Friday, August 6, 2010 and a funeral service on Satuday, August 7, 2010. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery.
