David Lloyd Davies, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones and family on October 19, 2023. He was born in Tampa, FL on September 7, 1954, to parents Charles B. Davies and Nancy Brownlow Paulus.

He grew up in Jacksonville, FL and graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1972. He earned an associate's degree at Florida Community College of Jacksonville and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in 1977.

David married the love of his life and soulmate, Bonnie, 45 years ago on February 11, 1978, with whom they had a daughter and son, Lauren and Ryan Davies, both of Jacksonville, FL.

David's professional career in the forest and lumber procurement industry spanned over 40 years, as he was employed by companies such as Georgia Pacific, St. Regis, Champion International, and finally, PalletOne, where he retired after 20 years of service.

David converted to Roman Catholicism over 25 years ago and was an eucharistic minister, minister of hospitality, and marriage counselor at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He joined the Blessed Trinity Catholic Church Parish and was a member of the Men's Club and Knights of Columbus. He also volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul Society.

David enjoyed vacationing with friends and family. He loved all forms of music, golfing with his Howey brothers, bird watching, stargazing, the Florida Gators, and long walks around the neighborhood with his beloved dog, Cinco.

David leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that no one could match. He brought joy no matter where he went, and he never met a stranger.

David is survived by his wife, Bonnie Damato Davies, daughter Lauren Davies, son, Christopher "Ryan" Davies, granddaughter, Sophia Davies, bonus daughter; Sophia's mother, Joy Williams, brother Tom Davies (Sue), 14 sibling in-laws, 30 nieces and nephews, 27 grand nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

David's funeral mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on Thursday, November 2, 2023. The visitation begins at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Please join the family for a nice reception and luncheon immediately following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to the UF Foundation, PO 100243, Gainesville, FL 32610. Donations will be used for neurological research at the University of Florida. Please put David Davies or Brain Bank on the memo line.
