David Lee Kirkland, 77, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024. He was born on January 27, 1947 to his proud parents John Turner Kirkland and Lela Fay Kirkland.

David graduated from Boston University, Army ROTC. He married Ligaya Delos Reyes on March 3rd, 1978. He enjoyed many hobbies including playing the fiddle, duck hunting, publishing short stories and several books, teaching children's Sunday school and being an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He served on many boards with humanitarian missions including the International Institute and La Clinica in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Preceded in death by: his parents John and Lela Kirkland, brother Michael Kirkland.

Survived by: his wife Ligaya of 46 years, his daughters Luisa Turner Morrow and Larissa Lela Kirkland, his adopted sons Richard Collins, William Reyes and Chris Daley and his grandson Tayden Edward Doran.

There will be a service held at Arlington Park Funeral Home on Friday, November 15th at 1pm, with a committal service to follow across the street at Arlington Park Cemetery.
