David Scott Quick was born December 11, 1976 in Smithtown, New York to Mary Patricia and Howard Scott Quick. Dave was raised in a large family by his father and step mother Susan.

Being one out of nine siblings. From a young age he had the same compassionate heart that grew with him to adulthood. Dave always put others before himself and would offer advice even if it was unwanted. He never just said what was wanted to be heard but put himself into your situation and somehow knew the right things to say or do. Dave was always smiling, had a love for life and was always up for an adventure. Dave loved his toys, he never held back from getting the latest upgrade. Dave excelled in everything he did. He worked hard to have the best and he never did anything hastily.

The most important accomplishment Dave ever had was being a father to his son Jonathan. Dave had a love for Jonny that was undeniable and he loved being a Father. If you knew Dave you knew his love he had for his son. Dave would talk about Jonny in almost all of his conversations. He had a love for his son that was far greater than anything in his life.

Dave always had a sense of humor about things. He had a way with making you laugh even if you didn't want to. He could always make you feel better about yourself. Not only would he make you feel better you believed what he said. He was always quick to defend you whether you were family or friend. Dave had a love for everyone he knew and you couldn't help to love him. Dave always had a shoulder to cry on. He was easy to talk to and if you were being stupid he would not hold back to tell you. Dave's smile always made you feel better, it was contagious. Dave will be truly missed and loved by all who knew him.

David was preceded in death by his father Howard Scott Quick, his mother Mary Patricia Boyd and his step-mother Susan Virginia Quick.

David is survived by his son Jonathan M. Quick (mother) Kissia, grandfather Howard H. Quick, his siblings Robert Knapp, Kathleen Knapp, Armando Patane (wife) Bethann Patane, Edward Knapp (wife) Janet Knapp, Anna Marie Patane, Sheila Mistretta (husband) Steve Mistretta, Kevin Quick (wife) Melissa Quick, Andrew Knapp (wife) Erin Knapp, his nephews and nieces (Robert Knapp) Michael Klummp, Christopher Knapp, (Kathleen Knapp) Jacob Hilman, (Armando Patane) Thomas Lannigan, Nicholas Shinnaberry, (Sheila Mistretta) Stephen Mistretta, Sean Mistretta, Shane Mistretta, (Kevin Quick) Alexis Quick, Matthew Quick, (Andrew Knapp) Jeremiah Sparks, Joshua Sparks, Tabitha Sparks, Emily Knapp, Levi Knapp and Marcus Knapp.
