Dickie Wayne Morris, 70, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 17, 2018 in Fernandina Beach, Florida. He was born on August 16, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida to parents, Thelmadge Columbus Morris and Mattie Cora Sammonas.

Dickie worked for 30 years for Florida Probation and Parole Services. He was an avid reader really never seen without a book, paper, or Kindle in his hand. He loved collecting coins and stamps, sharing and cultivating this love with the people around him. He was a lover of all animals especially wolves. Like his beloved wolves he was loyal, kind and caring for those who he considered his pack, often going above and beyond for those he cared for.

Dickie was preceded in death by Thelmadge & Mattie Morris, and Blue Thurman.

He is survived by; Cathy Morris, Alissa Morris, Patricia & Raymond Hatcher, Scott Hatcher, Martha Thurman, Mr & Mrs Ronnie Morris.

A memorial service will be held in his honor November 9th 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at the Arlington Park Funeral Home.  Father D. Bui will be the officiant. An inurnment will be held November 9th 2018 at 2:15 P.M. in Arlington Park Cemetery where military honors will be rendered.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211 (904) 724-6384.
