Obituary of Dollie Cribbs

Dollie Mae Jeffers Cribbs, 78, born Novemeber 9, 1934 in Keite, Georgia, to John and Nevada Beasley, passed away May 16, 2013 in Orange Park, FL.

She was first and foremost a mother to her girls. She lived for her girls and raising them was all she knew. She was their rock. Her hobbies included music, fishing and walking on the beach. She was also a wonderful true "southern cook." One of the treats in life for her "girls" was picking their birthday dinner and whatever they requested she would cook that day, and let's not forget that she was known for her dressing, dumplings and Brunswick stew at Christmas. She would always remind you how proud she was to be a "Beasley" and how much she loved her parents, and her four brothers, Ed, Pat, Dent and Terry. She and those brothers, according to her sang gospel together in the churches in Georgia when they were young. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wendell Jeffers. Dollie is survived by Melvin Cribbs, and daughters of Wendell Jeffers: Vickie Hyde (Robert Hyde-son-in-law); Wendy Young; Serena Mays; and Robin Foster; step-daughter Linda Davis and step-son Will Cribbs. She has eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren: Carolyn Hyde, Eric and Jennifer Hyde (Kallie), Shawn Hyde, Jason and Jennifer Young (Tristen and Grayson); Clay and Wendy Arlidge (Kaela); Marlena and Jimmy Heck (Teagan, Ethan and Riley); Emily and Brad Lloyd (Haylee, Miley and Addisyn) and Adam Pocock (Adam, Jr.) She was Aunt Dollie to so many and loved by all her nieces and nephews. She always opened her home and heart to them. The family will receive friends beginning 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013 in the chapel of the funeral home. Her life's celebration will begin at 1:00pm, with Rev. Carol Lavery officiating, and there will be a gathering afterwards at the home of Bob and Vickie Hyde. The burial will immediately follow at Arlington Park Funeral Cemetery.
