Obituary

Donald Elliot Clark died unexpectedly on January 8, 2025 from complications during recovery following surgery. Known as Don by his business associates and friends, he remained "Donny" to his loving family and friends of his youth. He was born in Jacksonville on July 16, 1960 to William C. and Martha G. Clark in the hospital in which he died 64 years later, St. Vincent's Medical Center. He joined a close and supportive family with 3 siblings who admired and adored him all the days of his life.

Donny grew up in Jacksonville and later lived in Ponte Vedra Beach and St. Augustine. He graduated from Sandalwood High School then Florida State University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. After college, he joined his father operating Clark Appliances in St. Augustine. Following his father's death, he owned and was still operating the business at the time of his death

A kind and gentle man, Donny had a calm, easy-going disposition and never sought attention. He was witty with a quick response and will be remembered for his dry humor, a beautiful smile, and a warm chuckle. He was respectful to all, non-judgmental, and always a joy to be around. In earlier years, he was active water skiing, fishing, boating, snow skiing, and riding his Harley on road trips with his buddies. In recent years, he enjoyed quiet days with his beloved Australian Blue Heeler, Jericho, while woodworking, grilling, or traveling in his Winnebago to state parks.

Donny was predeceased by his parents and his wife Maggie. He is survived by his step-daughter, Savannah Prince (Pheaon), Palm Coast, and their baby boy, Kai. He is also survived by his three siblings, Jimmy Clark (Karen) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Linda Williams, and Mary Ann Clark, both of Jacksonville. His nephews are Kevin Clark (Meredith) of Nashville, Brian Clark (Courtney) of Jacksonville, and Brad Clark, of Ponte Vedra Beach. Many cousins and a host of friends are also mourning his loss.
