Donald Arwin Klaras, age 84, son of Arwin and Eleanor (Hintgen) Klaras was born, August 24, 1932 in St. James, Minnesota passed away August 27, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

Don was a loving husband. He enjoyed news, sports, music, and politics, and was an expert with home entertainment electronics. Don loved the many cats and dogs, most of them rescues, that came in to his home, and he also enjoyed billiards and bowling.

Don spent his entire career in the insurance industry, retiring from the position of Vice President of Operations, at Professional Insurance Corporation, Jacksonville, Florida, in 1996. He is a graduate of Hamlin University, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, his two sisters Shirley Everett, of Carrollton, Texas, and Mary Gates, of Newton, Iowa; son Douglas Klaras, of Johnson City, Tennessee; daughter Hilliary Gauntt and her husband Charlie, of Norfolk, Virginia; and granddaughter Ali Luke, of Norfolk, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Don's Life will be held at future date that has yet to be decided.
