Donald Terry Stovall also known as DeeDee, 91, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025. He was born on July 21, 1933, to parents, Margie Elizabeth and Clyde Stovall.
Donald graduated from Andrew Jackson Senior High School in 1951. DeeDee pitched a no hitter against Fletcher High School. He was selected to be a member of the All-County PREP baseball team. He went on to proudly serve his country as a United States Marine. In 1954, he married his high school sweetheart Bessie Wynn Stovall. He was employed with Western Auto Supply Company as a service tech for over 25 years. Donald joined the Jacksonville Fire Department in 1960. He earned his Associate of Science degree in Fire Science and Prevention in 1988. After 32 years of dedicated service, he retired as a District Fire Chief from Jacksonville Fire and Rescue in 1992. DeeDee was an active square dancer for over 34 years and served as President of the NEFSARDS in 1996. He and Bessie traveled with fellow square dancers to most of the National Conventions. He was also an active member of the First Coast Golf Association. He had two notable accomplishments in his golfing career. One was a hole in one in 2009 at Mill Cove Golf Club and also shooting a score of eighty-two at his age of 82. He was always up for a round of golf with his friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Elizabeth Stovall-Jenness; father, Clyde Stovall; Sister, Betty Carolyn Rogers and Son, Raymond Brian Stovall.
Donald survived by his wife, Bessie W. Stovall of 71 years; son, Donald Terry Stovall, Jr.; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stovall; Grandson, Matthew Preston Stovall and Great Granddaughter, Riley Elizabeth Stovall.
