IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna
Selph
December 10, 1955 – February 18, 2022
Donna Gail Selph, age 66, was called to heaven this past Friday February 18, 2022, at her home in Jacksonville, Florida.
Donna was a native of the Arlington area of Jacksonville and graduated from Sandalwood High. Upon completion of her education, she married the love of her life and began a family.
Throughout her life, Donna was very much a free spirit and quite the adventurer. As a young lady, she'd often meet up with friends in the neighborhood to do her favorite thing of all – ride horses – a passion that stayed with her for many years. She even talked her mother into buying her a beautiful white horse, named Princess, which they were able to keep in their backyard.
Donna also loved the outdoors, whether it be kayaking, camping, heading to the mountains or to the springs. Up until her passing, Donna would often gather with her children and grandchildren to enjoy the outdoors. Additionally, she loved gardening and found the most peace while working out in her yard.
Donna was family oriented, and she loved her grandchildren beyond measure. They were her life. Pictures of them decorated every wall of her house.
Strongly rooted in her faith in God, Donna often recited scripture and celebrated her blessings each day.
Above all, Donna was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend who will be missed terribly. Words cannot express this level of grief, but we find peace knowing she is now in heaven, dancing away with her first husband, David, as well as in the company of her mother and father.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jerri Selph, and her husband, David Scott Vertner.
She is survived her four children; David Vertner (Mary), Krista Vertner, Shaun Callahan (Julie) and Allison Cologne (Brandon); Eight grandchildren; Asher and Aubrey Hurm, Leah and Eli Vertner, Haley, Logan, and Luke Cologne and Willow Callahan; whom she adored, by her sister; Sherry Selph, and brother; Scott Selph. Many cousins and close friends also survive her.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a living plant to be used in a memorial garden we plan to dedicate in her memory.
